The Hidden Gardens is a beautiful public oasis located in the Pollokshields area of Glasgow. It is an urban green space where you can relax away from the busy city streets,  discover nature, get creative and connect with friends and neighbours. A legacy of NVA Europe, The Hidden Gardens is an environmental artwork which has become an urban greenspace of international repute rooted in its local community.

The Gardens exist to provide a safe place of sanctuary, learning and participation, building trust and understanding between people of all cultures, faiths and backgrounds through horticulture, nature, creativity and collaboration.

You can enter The Hidden Gardens from two entrances:
Entrance via Tramway: follow the green line from Tramway’s Albert Drive entrance to the gardens.

We are keen to encourage active travel to our festival and have provided information for all our venues. You may also wish to take advantage of the electric bicycle scheme, Voi, which operates on a pay as you go, prepaid or subscription basis. There are pick up and drop off points throughout the city.

  • By bus: From Queen Street (West Nile Street) or Central Station (Jamaica Street): 3, 38, 38B, 57 and 57A to Coplaw Street Bus stop (6/5 stops). Approximately 3 min walk.
  • By train: From Central Station High Level take trains marked Neilston, Newton Mearns or Cathcart to Pollokshields East station which is directly beside Tramway. This station has two flights of stairs (16 and 14 steps) with handrails. The nearest step-free accessible station is Crossmyloof.  This is a 20min walk (0.9 miles) via Darnley Road.
  • By subway: The nearest underground station is Bridge Street then take the number 3, 38, 38B, 57 and 57A to Coplaw Street Bus stop. The route is mostly flat.
  • By car: There is free on-street parking on Albert Drive. Blue Badge holders can park for free and any length of time.  There is a drop off and pick up point directly outside the venue.
