There’s No Prayer Like Desire, Pinky Htut Aung & Heather Lander

Wordless sighs swoon over pizzicato strings; distorted strings buzz through chipped, skittery beats – evoking the sounds of mystical spaces and bustling streets, this is the world of multi-instrumentalist Pinky Htut Aung (Myanmar). A kind of lively moving meditation, this improvised new work (a UK and European premiere) is inspired by pioneering sonic experiments, the movement of clouds and the notion that thought itself can have tangible presence. ‘It’s party time!’ she announces, introducing a celebration like no other. Visuals by Heather Lander.
