Over the last decade, Alba G. Corral has become known for her live visual improvisations, providing swirling digital imagery to accompany the performances of her musical collaborators. In a world first for Sonica Glasgow 2022, Alba will accompany herself: using preset algorithms and live coding she will generate visuals that respond to the waves of warm sound she produces as her musical alter ego Namba, in an immersive piece inspired by and dedicated to the always moving Mediterranean Sea.

Begun in 2020, Halina Rice’s cutting-edge audiovisual project New Worlds draws from music, art and technology alike. With elements of ambient, new pop and beat-driven electronic dance music, Rice’s live performances are mutant events: part art happening, part rave. Innovative visuals allow the audience to influence and interact with projections via their phones, while a live-action avatar of the artist herself dives in and explores the unfolding digital world.
