Creation, Alex Smoke

For his new audio work Creation, musician and composer Alex Smoke draws on the Eastern musical tradition that a performance should respond to its own unique environment, circumstances and audience. He has devised a new musical instrument: a third bridge zither, which generates harmonics and overtones when its strings are played. As the zither’s repeated, amplified notes encircle and flow around his audience, Smoke will use vocals and the chimes of bells to build a spiralling sonic meditation. TICKETS
