Attempting to outsmart nature, humanity has instead opened ourselves up to natural disaster. Gently but firmly, Sara Vrugt shows us where we’ve gone wrong, using the example of a single tree. Visitors to Unearthed lie on the floor, looking up to a network representing the roots of a tree whose life was cut short by manmade environmental change life, strung with hundreds of chiming bells. Stay a while and meditate beneath their ringing as they summon all who hear them to unite and make changes for the better. Accompanied by a soundscape played by Ensemble Klang.
