Gather on the spiral staircase of the Hunterian Art Gallery for a unique solo show from Serbian vocalist Svetlana Spajić. As in her performances, Spajić honours her friends, mentors and especially her sonic forebears – the oldest generation of singers still living in her lifetime, who kept alive the oral tradition of storytelling in the pre-digital age. In reperforming songs she heard firsthand and that originated in hyper-specific locales across her country, Spajić becomes a living conduit of Serbian history, art and culture.
