Sound artist Brian d’Souza is also known by his DJ alias Auntie Flo. His new project Plants Can Dance uses biosonification – the transformation of signals gleaned from living organisms into sound – to turn plants and fungi into co-composers of ambient music, expressed through modular synths. Responding to environmental changes, from the rays of the sun to being watered, the plants generate a twinkling, slowly modulating soundtrack.
