A Cryptic Commission
Musician and audiovisual artist Sonia Killmann returns to Sonica to play a set based around their brand new debut album. After moving to Glasgow from Belgium a decade ago, Killmann began writing music inspired by their experiences of life in the city. The result is Crescent, a mesmeric blend of the warm analogue tones of the Buchla 200 synthesiser, evocative field recordings, piano and vocals, melded by the smoky murmur of Killmann’s saxophone. Killmann’s live solo presentation of these new tracks uses quadrophonic speakers for a fully immersive experience.
