A new collaboration between audiovisual duo AMIANGELIKA (new media artist Angelika Vladimirova) and 1100 (composer-producer Erik Hanson) explores the artists’ own battles with inner turmoil and finding calm amid chaos. Eschewing traditional narrative, BLCK SUN mimics the lived experience of psychological disruption and recovery. Responding to Hanson’s soundtrack, by turns shattering and serene, Vladimirova’s generative visuals coil and snarl. Just when all seems overwhelming, a new sense of stability emerges. BLCK SUN transforms a deeply personal story into a universal metaphor for triumph over disorder.

Istanbul-born Korhan Oraydın, aka Non Square, is an electronic musician obsessed by the acceleration of technology. Bucking a trend to feel dismay at the changes technological advancements are forcing on society, Oraydın’s sparkling, uplifting techno speaks to the optimist in us. Matched to visuals by VJ Temel Hüseyin Kuru (Motus Lumina), whose teeming, polygon-rich scenes of frantic movement draw inspiration from Oraydın’s background in computer game design, this is a sugar rush, a thrilling high-speed race towards a brighter, better tomorrow.
