Alliyah Enyo devises site-specific sonic artworks that respond to the qualities of the spaces she chooses to play in: their resonance, their materials and how they echo – just as memories do. In When All is Dust, a preview of her forthcoming third album on Glasgow label Somewhere Press, Enyo uses reel-to-reel tape decks to generate hypnotically looping backdrops for her vocals, which are wordless yet unabashedly emotive and deeply personal. Location, technology and feeling fuse in a one-of-a-kind experimental performance.
