Lara Jones is an award winning saxophonist, composer and producer based in London. She is also a member of avant garde trio J Frisco.

Lara creates high energy pulsating electronics using saxophone, synths, beats, live processing, voice and field recordings used to build structures and queer narratives through her work.

She was Jerwood Arts Jazz Encounter Fellow 2020-2022 and recipient of Help Musician’s UK’s Peter Whittingham Jazz Award 2021. She recently featured a groundbreaking guest mix on Mary Anne Hobbs’ BBC 6 Music show and has had her work featured across BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio 3.

Lara is on the cutting edge of experimental music, both in and out of jazz and is set to release a new EP in 2023. She also loves to create works for the piano and is interested in exploring other art forms in conjunction with her music.
