Andrey Chugunov is a conceptual artist working at the intersection of digital and analogue media. He combines sound art, light installation, generative graphics, technological sculpture, media performances and readymade in his practice. He researches topics of mortality, temporality, autonomy, and memory decay in his artworks from the perspective of meditative media.

Andrey received the New Faces Award for Art at the 22nd Japan Media Arts Festival in 2018. He was nominated for the Sergey Kuryokhin Contemporary Art Award in Media Art (2022) and Science Art (2020) and as part of the 4g art group in Art in Public Space (2018). Andrey received an honourable mention in Media Art and was shortlisted in Digital Art categories for the FutureTense Award in 2022. He was the winner of the Art of Neuroscience category and Niio x AI Art Prizes nominee as part of the pt9 art group in 2019.

 

Several of Chugunov’s artworks have been commissioned by a number of art institution and are in private collections.
